California Variegated Mutant (CVM) sheep are a colored variant of Romeldale sheep developed in California in the 1960s. The fleece color can be light or dark gray, cream, moorit, black, or brown. The wool is bouncy, soft, approximately 22-26 microns, and often has a long staple length, up to 4-6 inches. It is delightful to spin from a carded batt or rolag. Our fleece is from Northern California. There may be a small amount of vegetable matter in these locks.
